Health Savings Account

A Health Savings Account (HSA) is an account that allows you to set aside money for future medical expenses. Deposits and qualified withdrawals are generally tax exempt and balances can be carried over each year.

Competitive tiered interest rates

$5 monthly service fee, which can be waived by:

  • Maintaining a $500 balance, or
  • Signing up for direct deposit, or
  • Authorizing an automatic transfer from a Mechanics Bank deposit account

Other Features:

  • Please contact us for current contribution limits for self-only and family coverage. If you're over age 55, be sure to ask us about an additional catch-up contribution.
  • Fee of fifty cents per check charged for each check clearing in excess of five per statement period. No charge for using our no-annual-fee Health Savings Debit Card.

Counts as one of the six pre-authorized transfers allowed each statement cycle. Other transactions considered to be "Pre-authorized Transfers" include: POS transactions using a Debit card, ACH debits, online banking transfers out, 522-BANK transfers out, checks clearing the account.

An Education Savings Account (ESA) is a tax-deferred account that allows tax-free withdrawals of funds used for qualified educational expenses.
