Be the Change Videos
In your senior year of high school, once the Financial Literacy and Volunteering requirements are met, you will receive $50 to pay forward in your community. To be award eligible, we ask you to create a short video about how you used the money to make a positive change in your community. Once completed, videos will need to be posted to the Mechanics Bank Facebook Be the Change Video Contest page (via a YouTube link) for viewing in March. Please contact the Program Coordinator, Brooke Miller, for full submission details.
The typical video viewing period on the contest page is March 1 - March 31. Video entries will be accepted throughout March. The video entries will be reviewed by a panel who will select seven $1000 awardees. This panel will look for videos to include: how you used the $50 to Pay It Forward in your community, why your project was meaningful to you, and the impact your project had or you hope that it has on your community in the future. The public voting component is intended to inspire your communities with your ideas and allow them to participate as a tie breaker for our judging panel.
